Chef – Room Service, Part-Time

About the role

St Vincent's Private Hospital Toowoomba is looking for a qualified and experienced Chef to join its Hospitality Services team on a permanent part-time basis of 25 hours per week. Working within a contemporary room service model, the chef prepares fresh, nutritious meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to menu guidelines, standard recipes and food safety requirements.
• Follow personal hygiene and food handling practices in line with the hospital's HACCP-based food safety program and relevant laws.
• Take part in food processes such as safe handling and storage, stock rotation and temperature and time controls.
• Be flexible with rostering across 7 days, including AM and PM shifts.

Required profile

• Commercial cookery qualification (Cert III or higher).
• Demonstrated experience in food handling for at least 12 months.
• Experience in a room service model; ideally with a docketing system.
• Ability to make decisions and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• High knowledge of dietary needs and excellent, friendly communication.
