Category Specialist

About the role

The Lottery Corporation, which powers Australia's biggest lottery games and is building an entertainment business, is hiring a Category Specialist. The role covers sourcing, supplier management and category planning across a range of indirect spend categories, working closely with stakeholders to deliver sourcing activities, manage supplier performance and provide commercial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sourcing, quotation and contract renewal activities across a broad technology portfolio including software, cloud, telecommunications, hardware, AI and security.
• Support category planning through spend analysis, market research and supplier evaluations to identify value and savings opportunities.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews and contract obligations to drive strong commercial outcomes.
• Partner with key stakeholders to give procurement advice and deliver compliant sourcing and contracting processes.
• Track procurement outcomes, maintain sourcing pipelines and reporting, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 3-5 years' experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management or supplier management.
• Proven experience supporting sourcing events, supplier negotiations, contract renewals and procurement projects.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain or a related field; CIPS (or similar) certification desirable.
• Exposure to technology spend categories such as software, telecommunications, cloud, networks, cyber security or IT services is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with sourcing, supplier negotiation and contract management.
