Commercial Manager

About the role

Coogee, an Australian-owned company active in chemical manufacturing, storage, distribution and related industrial businesses, is seeking a Commercial Manager. Reporting directly to the CFO, this newly appointed role works across the business to support commercial activities, growth initiatives, contract management and risk management. It suits an engineer with commercial qualifications or commercial experience who wants to influence key business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Support commercial activities across manufacturing, storage, distribution and emerging business operations.
• Develop and evaluate financial models, business cases, pricing strategies and profitability initiatives.
• Support growth opportunities, acquisitions, expansions and major capital projects.
• Negotiate and manage commercial agreements, supply contracts, sales contracts and service agreements.
• Coordinate contract review, administration, renewals, pricing mechanisms and dispute resolution.
• Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational and supply chain risks.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, governance and procurement requirements.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers and external advisers, working with operational, finance, business development and executive leadership teams.

Required profile

• Engineering qualifications supported by commercial qualifications.
• Experience in commercial management, contract management, business development, procurement, finance or a related commercial discipline.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, chemical, mining, energy or other heavy industry environments.
• Proven experience negotiating and managing complex commercial agreements and contracts.
• Experience supporting strategic growth initiatives and major projects.
• Right to live and work in Australia; candidates may undergo compliance checks.
