Casual Commis Chef

About the role

Federal Hospitality is hiring a casual Commis Chef for Wrest Point in Sandy Bay, Hobart. You will prepare dishes using Tasmania's finest produce and local ingredients alongside a skilled culinary team, developing your skills across several dining outlets, from an upmarket bistro to the Point Revolving Restaurant.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a range of dishes using fresh local ingredients
• Work alongside a diverse culinary team in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
• Gain exposure to different cuisines, techniques and service styles across multiple outlets

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, ideally in a hotel, restaurant or large hospitality venue
• Commercial Cookery Certificate III or higher
• Full Australian working rights and availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a high-performing team
• Subject to pre-employment and ongoing screening checks

Required skills

• Strong understanding of quality produce and food preparation techniques
• Understanding of kitchen operations
