Cashier & Accounts Payable Officer – Early Shift

About the role

The Sydney Fish Market is seeking a Cashier/Accounts Payable Officer to work the early shift (5 am‑1 pm). You will own daily cash transactions, manage the accounts payable function, and support the small Finance team in a high‑profile, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process and reconcile daily cash, EFT, cheques and other payments.
• Issue receipts, maintain accurate payment records and prepare daily banking deposits.
• Balance cash registers and investigate any cash discrepancies.
• Process supplier invoices, match purchase orders and delivery receipts.
• Prepare and run EFT payment batches and reconcile supplier statements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date vendor records and respond to supplier queries.
• Assist with month‑end closing activities related to payables.
• Support general finance tasks such as record keeping, audit documentation and compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Permanent Australian working rights.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week.
• Previous experience in cashiering and/or accounts payable.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good numerical and reconciliation skills.
