Business Development Manager – MICE and Groups

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive new business and revenue growth across MICE markets for Pullman Sydney Hyde Park. Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will actively prospect, build relationships and convert opportunities into confirmed business.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect new clients and MICE opportunities through cold calling, client visits, networking and industry events.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, converting leads into confirmed bookings and maximizing revenue.
• Develop low‑producing and dormant accounts into higher‑value, long‑term relationships.
• Research market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities to inform sales strategies.
• Represent the hotel at trade shows, networking functions and client activities to increase visibility.

Required profile

• Proven sales experience in a hospitality environment with a focus on MICE and business development.
• Commercially driven, proactive and able to identify untapped markets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong commercial awareness.
• Ambitious, energetic and motivated by achieving results and building client relationships.

Required skills

• Ability to source, qualify and convert new business opportunities.
• Strong pipeline management and prospecting skills.
• Confidence conducting client meetings, sales calls, presentations and site inspections.
