Business Development Manager - Liquor Wholesale

About the role

ALM, the liquor wholesale division of Metcash, is looking for a Business Development Manager based in Canning Vale. You will take ownership of a portfolio of on and off-premise customers across Western Australia, building strong relationships, growing existing accounts and winning new business. Candidates with existing sales or account management experience, or people currently working in on-premise venues who know the liquor industry, are welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Grow sales with existing customers and drive supplier sales through ALM
• Gain new sales by expanding the customer base
• Sell on-premise promotional programs, activations and initiatives to all called-on on-premise customers
• Build strong relationships with venue stakeholders in the on and off-premise trade within the territory and customer base
• Maintain the call cycle and territory plan using ALM sales tools, including CRM
• Sell on-premise initiatives and EDM promotional activity
• Promote the benefits of ALM on-premise, including socials, ALM Connect and the ASK ALM portal

Required profile

• Sales and operations experience in the liquor industry, preferably the Perth metropolitan on and off-premise trade
• Sound knowledge of the on-premise liquor industry
• Proven record of excellent customer service
• Relationship-driven, commercially minded and passionate about the liquor industry

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows 10
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
