Associate – Project Finance Portfolio Management

About the role

The Associate will join MUFG's Project Finance Portfolio Management team in Sydney, supporting credit analysis and ongoing portfolio management for Project Finance customers across Australia. Reporting to the PF Infra and Resources Director, the role involves both client-facing and internal coordination tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct annual credit reviews, internal rating reviews and manage customer credit requests.
• Support Relationship Managers and Portfolio Leads with credit proposals, client presentations and account plans.
• Assist the Infra Director and VP in managing challenging assets, refinancing initiatives and revenue projects.
• Coordinate compliance with internal policies and provide ad‑hoc support to relationship managers.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in institutional lending, credit research or related fields such as accounting, investment banking, project development or corporate treasury.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail and ability to work independently across multiple work streams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal and presentation abilities.
