Associate Director, NFR Merchants Acquiring

About the role

The Associate Director, NFR Merchants Acquiring will act as a trusted risk partner across product, sales, implementation, operations, technology and digital delivery teams, providing practical risk advice and execution support to enable safe, sustainable growth of merchant acquiring products.

Key responsibilities

• Provide risk guidance on product strategy, client solutions, platform delivery and change initiatives for Transaction Banking.
• Identify, assess, monitor and report material non‑financial risks across the merchant acquiring product lifecycle.
• Drive oversight across operational, technology, cyber, data, fraud, financial crime, third‑party and resilience risk domains.
• Strengthen the control environment through governance, risk indicators, documentation and reporting.
• Support risk assessments, control assurance, incident management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure effective risk management throughout design, testing, implementation and post‑launch review.

Required profile

• Strong experience in merchants acquiring products, platforms and client lifecycles.
• Proven non‑financial risk management experience in a complex financial services environment.
• Ability to provide credible risk advisory and constructive challenge to product, digital, operations and technology teams.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of domestic and cross‑border payments, cash management, trade finance and emerging payment standards.
