Associate – Corporate and Commercial Tax (Brisbane)

About the role

Join a rapidly growing Taxation team within HWLE Lawyers' Corporate & Commercial practice in Brisbane. You will work closely with senior partners, handling multi‑jurisdictional tax matters and providing strategic advice to a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic tax advice across income tax, GST, land tax, payroll tax and stamp duty.
• Draft and advise on complex trust structures, trust deeds, and wills & estates matters.
• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, contributing to team capability and growth.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years post‑admission experience in income tax and/or state tax, or a strong desire to develop in these areas.
• Strategic and critical thinking with a commercial mindset.
• Broader legal experience such as M&A, property, commercial transactions or tax litigation.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance.
• Experience drafting trust deeds and advising on estate planning.
