Assistant Manager – Automotive Service

About the role

Join the UK’s largest automotive service, maintenance and repair business as an Assistant Manager. Working side‑by‑side with the Centre Manager, you will help drive profitability while ensuring an excellent customer journey across both the workshop and the sales floor.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager in daily sales, customer service and operational decisions.
• Spend time on the workshop floor, assisting technicians and performing hands‑on mechanical tasks.
• Oversee workshop workflow, diagnostics and vehicle maintenance processes.
• Maintain health and safety compliance and uphold quality standards.
• Coach, train and develop team members to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Previous hands‑on experience as a mechanic or equivalent management experience in an automotive environment.
• Strong technical/mechanical knowledge of light vehicles.
• Proven ability to lead teams and deliver excellent customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organisational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Light Vehicle Maintenance (Level 2 or Level 3 qualification or equivalent).
• Vehicle diagnostics.
• Workshop operations.
• Health & Safety compliance.
