About the role
IDT Australia is seeking an Assistant Accountant with strong manufacturing accounting expertise to join the Finance team at its Boronia facility. The role focuses on month‑end accounting, inventory and cost analysis, and supporting the SAP Business One implementation across Finance, Supply Chain and Operations.
Key responsibilities
- Support month‑end close activities including journals, accruals, pre‑payments, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Manage and analyse manufacturing accounting functions such as inventory, customer‑owned inventory, work‑in‑progress (WIP), product costing, COGS and manufacturing variances.
- Investigate discrepancies in inventory, WIP and costing, collaborating with operational teams to resolve issues.
- Assist with inventory valuation, obsolescence provisioning, stock‑take processes and related financial analysis.
- Participate in the SAP B1 implementation and optimisation, handling process mapping, testing/UAT, data validation, reconciliation and issue resolution.
- Work with the SAP Project Lead and internal SMEs to ensure Finance and manufacturing processes are accurately reflected in SAP B1.
- Identify and recommend improvements to financial controls, data integrity, reporting and Finance processes.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Minimum three years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a pharmaceutical CDMO or comparable multi‑product/multi‑customer manufacturing environment.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP Business One in a manufacturing setting, including understanding of inventory movements, production transactions, WIP and costing impacts.
- Direct involvement in an SAP B1 implementation, migration, upgrade or optimisation project, covering testing/UAT, data validation and issue management.
