Area Director of Sales – Victoria & New South Wales

About the role

Minor Hotels is seeking an experienced Area Director of Sales to lead sales strategy across a portfolio of hotels in Victoria and New South Wales. Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales, you will drive revenue outcomes and develop high‑performing sales teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and market‑share objectives across rooms, meetings, events and catering.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Regional Sales Managers and sales professionals.
• Manage sales budgets, forecasts and reporting to ensure commercial targets are met.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, industry partners and key stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and business opportunities to support strategic decision‑making.
• Partner closely with Marketing, Revenue, Finance, Hotel Leadership and Operations teams.
• Represent Minor Hotels at industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven success in a senior commercial leadership role such as Director of Sales or Sales & Marketing Manager.
• Experience within the hotel, tourism or hospitality industry.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate strategy into results.
• Advanced stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong analytical capability with experience in forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• A degree in Business, Hospitality or a related discipline is highly regarded.
