Apprentice Diesel Fitter / Mechanic

About the role

The Boral Asphalt team is seeking a responsible and organised individual to join as an Apprentice Diesel Fitter / Mechanic. This role offers on‑the‑job training, an apprenticeship pathway and exposure to both mobile and fixed asphalt plant equipment maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair of mobile and fixed asphalt plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Carry out field‑based maintenance using a fully equipped mobile service vehicle.
• Support the Asset Management team in improving plant reliability and performance.
• Complete routine plant inspections, maintenance checklists and maintain a clean, organised workshop.

Required profile

• Positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
• Willingness to learn, good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Current driver’s licence, reliable transport and willingness to travel for work.

Required skills

• Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge.
• Interest in diesel fitting and servicing heavy equipment.
