Analyst, Transaction Monitoring

About the role

The Analyst, Transaction Monitoring will support the Oceania Compliance team by managing alerts generated by the bank’s monitoring system for customers in Australia and New Zealand. You will ensure thorough documentation, timely resolution, and contribute to building a best‑in‑class monitoring function.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate, log and resolve transaction monitoring alerts, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Develop and implement policies, frameworks and procedures aligned with AML/CTF standards and AUSTRAC/DIA requirements.
• Conduct day‑to‑day monitoring, identify suspicious activity, and perform enhanced due diligence on flagged transactions.
• Prepare analytics and reports on alert outcomes and liaise with relevant departments for timely reporting.
• Support internal stakeholders by providing clear guidance on compliance matters and responding to enquiries.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in financial services compliance within a financial institution.
• Solid understanding of Australian AML/CTF regulations and local banking regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail for diligent investigation and accurate reporting.
• Degree qualification; AML/CTF certification is a plus.
