AI Video Lead – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

Canva is building an AI‑driven video production capability. As the AI Video Lead you will turn creative briefs into high‑quality short‑form videos using generative AI tools, while shaping workflows and standards for the team.

Key responsibilities

• Generate end‑to‑end AI‑created short videos, selecting tools, iterating prompts and ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Direct the “shoot” through prompting, applying composition, lighting, colour, motion and pacing expertise.
• Develop and maintain a library of prompt techniques, references and workflows for the craft team.
• Work within quality, safety and brand standards, flagging realism, bias or copyright risks.
• Provide structured feedback on AI video tools and model outputs to improve governance.
• Stay current with AI video platforms (e.g., Higgsfield, Runway, Kling, Veo, Pika) and integrate best practices.

Required profile

• Strong visual storytelling background in art direction, creative direction or content production.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI video tools and prompt‑engineering.
• Proven ability to deliver high volumes of creative content under tight deadlines.
• Excellent creative judgement to assess AI‑generated results and raise risks early.
• Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly evolving AI tools.

Required skills

• Generative AI video tools: Higgsfield, Runway, Kling, CapCut, Veo, Pika, Sora.
• Prompt‑engineering for video generation.
• Adobe Premiere and After Effects (preferred).
• Basic Python scripting (preferred).
