Accounts Receivable Officer

About the role

Waverley Council is looking for a motivated Accounts Receivable Officer to join its Revenue Team on a fixed‑term basis. The role involves managing the council’s debtor functions, ensuring accurate invoicing, and supporting revenue collection across the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and issue invoices to council customers in a timely manner.
• Allocate payments, reconcile accounts and monitor overdue balances.
• Support debt recovery actions through analysis of overdue accounts.
• Provide financial administration and reporting assistance to the Revenue Team.
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with revenue operations.

Required profile

• TAFE Diploma in Business/Accounting or equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for handling customer inquiries and complaints.
• Knowledge of revenue collection processes.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Positive attitude with a quick learning ability.
• Accurate data‑entry experience and solid mathematical/problem‑solving skills.
