Accounting Manager – Cost Base (Finance)

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its Central Functions Finance team in Adelaide. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will help ensure financial integrity across corporate cost centres while supporting strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate and report Central cost centre results, shaping performance narratives.
• Identify and track financial risks and opportunities.
• Partner with stakeholders to improve inputs into forecasts and challenge assumptions.
• Critically review budgets and forecasts, delivering actionable insights to senior finance leaders.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legislation and corporate policies.
• Drive efficiencies in reporting, forecasting and project finance processes.

Required profile

• Degree qualification plus CA, CIMA or CPA accreditation.
• Growth mindset with curiosity beyond spreadsheets.
• Strong critical‑thinking, storytelling and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Australian Government Security Clearance.
