Accountant - Payroll & Reporting

About the role

The Manufacturing & Engineering business in Perth is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for payroll processing, month‑end reporting, job cost analysis and supporting inventory control.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for all employees.
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial reports.
• Perform detailed job cost reviews and allocate costs across projects.
• Support inventory reporting and reconciliation in partnership with warehouse and operations teams.
• Conduct financial data analysis to aid cost management, forecasting and decision‑making.
• Assist with finance system upgrades, automation tools and reporting enhancements.
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations and journal entries as part of the monthly close.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion).
• Minimum three years of relevant experience, especially in payroll, job costing and month‑end reporting.
• Strong financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting abilities.
• Solid understanding of ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel proficiency.
