Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join a medium‑sized engineering firm located in Kew. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting and tax compliance, and providing financial insights to aid decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts and financial statements.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision‑making.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting function.

Required profile

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholder liaison.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
