Accountant – APAC Finance Team (Sydney)

About the role

R/GA is seeking a motivated Accountant to join its APAC Finance team in Sydney. The role will own month‑end close activities, balance‑sheet reconciliations and support accurate financial reporting for multiple entities across Australia, Singapore, Japan and Indonesia. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors in a fast‑paced, multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with monthly, quarterly and year‑end close processes, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and support inter‑company transactions.
• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other GST/VAT reporting as required.
• Ensure payroll tax and workers compensation compliance, including worksheet preparation and lodgment.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions and conduct weekly bank reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies.
• Provide documentation and explanations for annual external audits and collaborate with external tax advisors on FBT and income tax returns.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and enhance internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CA or CPA qualification, or working towards it.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience with a solid understanding of Australian accounting standards and US GAAP.
• Experience in a multinational, multi‑entity environment is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Xero or SAP.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
