Account Manager - Steel & Aluminium

About the role

BlueScope Distribution in Kewdale is looking for an Account Manager to join its Sales team. You will manage an established portfolio of customers across the Perth metropolitan area, helping businesses find the right steel and aluminium solutions. The role suits someone with strong customer-facing skills in retail, hospitality, customer service or internal sales who wants a long-term career, and previous sales or steel experience is not essential.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
• Visit customer sites and understand their businesses and requirements
• Identify, generate and convert new business opportunities
• Work with internal teams to deliver a high level of customer service
• Maintain customer activity and opportunities in the CRM system
• Develop account plans and sales strategies
• Learn to manage pricing, commercial discussions and negotiations
• Stay up to date with market activity and customer opportunities

Required profile

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Willingness to learn and ask questions
• Proactive approach and genuine sense of ownership
• Ability to work well with customers and internal teams
• Good organisational skills and follow-through
• Interest in building a long-term career in sales
