Business Development Manager - Building, Construction & Hire

About the role

Kennards Hire is looking for a Business Development Manager based in Adelaide to convert opportunities into results across the Adelaide region. The role manages a portfolio of Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers and combines new business development with growing wallet share in the building, construction and hire industries. It involves engaging with on-site operational teams while building relationships with senior decision-makers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of Tier 1 and Tier 2 customer accounts
• Grow wallet share through solution-led selling and relationship development
• Build trusted relationships across all stakeholder levels, from site teams to C-suite
• Deliver senior stakeholder and boardroom-level presentations on capability and solutions
• Develop and execute customer-specific growth plans aligned to sales strategy
• Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
• Partner with internal operational teams so customer commitments are delivered
• Maintain strong CRM discipline and account planning

Required profile

• Experienced Business Development Manager with a strong commercial track record in the building, construction or hire industry
• Proven evidence of winning commercial sales and generating repeat business in the past three years
• Experience with Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers, understanding decisions at executive and site level
• Knowledge of the construction and infrastructure sectors
• Confidence engaging with C-suite executives and on-site operational teams
• Solid understanding of territory and key account planning

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems, with strong pipeline and activity management
• Competence across the Microsoft Office suite; experience with Baseplan is highly regarded
