Veterinary Receptionist (Part-Time)

About the role

A friendly, down-to-earth veterinary clinic in Tuggeranong, Canberra, is looking for an experienced part-time Veterinary Receptionist in a permanent part-time role of at least 30 hours per week. The clinic was recently fully renovated and is led by a Practice Manager with over 20 years' experience; it has four veterinarians, up to nine nurses and no after-hours or weekend requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome clients and patients into the clinic
• Manage appointment bookings and scheduling
• Answer and direct phone calls, and respond to client emails and enquiries
• Take payments and process accounts
• Organise patient admission and discharge paperwork and maintain accurate patient records
• Perform banking and administrative duties
• Assist with patient triage (training provided)
• Advise on vaccination schedules, nutrition and parasite prevention
• Provide excellent customer service in all situations

Required profile

• Previous reception, customer service, veterinary, medical or allied health experience
• Dependable, punctual and reliable, with excellent written and verbal communication
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to handle competing priorities
• Available to work Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, on an ongoing basis

Required skills

• Experience with RxWorks is highly regarded but not essential
