Team Leader – Desktop Home Assessing

About the role

Budget Direct is launching its Desktop Home Assessing team in Adelaide and needs an enthusiastic, empathetic Team Leader to guide a group of talented assessors. You will shape team culture, drive performance and build a high‑standard service from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, monitor and inspire the team to deliver a high standard of service, providing coaching and constructive feedback.
• Handle escalated claims, complaints and complex matters, ensuring accurate cost validation and scope accuracy.
• Implement and refine cost‑control strategies to meet planned outcomes and improve the Home Claims Value Chain.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, offering constructive feedback as required.
• Contribute to strategic and operational initiatives, including systems, process development and staffing requirements.
• Track, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure productivity and quality meet internal expectations.

Required profile

• Experience managing a team of professionals, with the ability to lead, inspire, performance‑manage, coach and mentor.
• Strong change‑agility, exceptional communication, negotiation, time‑management and organisational skills.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Home Assessing or the Building Industry, including estimating and assessing.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective business relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Insurance experience is preferred but not essential.
