Tax Manager

About the role

This is a senior‑level Tax Manager position within one of the world’s largest investment managers. Based in Sydney, the role sits in a finance team of over 100 professionals and offers extensive exposure to corporate tax compliance, advisory projects and M&A activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support Australian and international tax matters, including income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax, Pillar Two, transfer pricing and hybrid arrangements.
• Prepare and review tax compliance and reporting – income tax returns, BAS, FBT returns, quarterly and annual tax reporting, tax forecasting and financial‑statement disclosures.
• Assist with M&A transactions, tax due diligence, acquisitions, disposals, restructuring activities and related tax calculations and planning.
• Provide proactive tax advice and partner with Finance, HR, Legal and Company Secretarial teams while supporting ATO reviews, audits and external tax advisors.
• Identify tax risks, recommend practical solutions and maintain technical tax expertise.
• Drive process improvements through automation initiatives, systems support and mentor Tax Administration staff.

Required profile

• 1–2 moves from corporate tax within a top‑30 CA practice or relevant corporate tax experience in the property or funds sectors.
• Career‑oriented mindset with a desire to develop within a large, diversified investment management organisation.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across functions.

Required skills
