Tax Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Tax Manager to join Brookfield Real Estate Group in Sydney. The role supports the Tax Director and Vice President in ensuring compliance across Australian tax obligations and contributes to tax risk management and due‑diligence activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Tax Director and Vice President with day‑to‑day tax matters.
• Manage BAU compliance for Income Tax, GST, Pillar 2, payroll tax and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT).
• Prepare annual income tax returns and coordinate quarterly distributions.
• Engage external advisors for thin‑capitalisation, hybrids, transfer pricing and tax fixed‑asset registers.
• Conduct tax due‑diligence and identify tax issues proactively.
• Provide tax support to Finance, HR, Legal and Company Secretarial functions.
• Assist with ATO reviews, tax forecasting, and business planning for disposals and acquisitions.
• Prepare quarterly and annual tax reporting, including use of TRCS and tax disclosures in financial statements.
• Prepare Fringe Benefits Tax returns and act as first reviewer for monthly BAS and ITX Edge.
• Seek opportunities for automation of tax processes.
