Tax Lawyer – Associate to Senior Associate

About the role

Holding Redlich is seeking an Associate to Senior Associate to join its national tax practice in Brisbane. Working closely with Partner Michael Patane, you will handle both front‑end advisory work and back‑end dispute matters for key clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare advice on income tax, capital gains tax, GST, private rulings and Australian duties.
• Manage ATO reviews, audits, objections, references to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Federal Court appeals.
• Assist on large, complex deals, projects and disputes, providing tailored tax advice under supervision.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience delivering specialised tax advice, tax controversy and commercial matters.
• Ability to analyse facts, research tax issues and draft advice with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to client outcomes and capacity to work independently while managing workflow.

Required skills

• Income tax, CGT, GST, private rulings, ATO reviews and audits.
• Knowledge of document management systems and legal research tools.
