Structural Engineer

About the role

Bornhorst + Ward is looking for a Structural Engineer to join its dynamic design team in Brisbane. You will work on a wide variety of building and infrastructure projects, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design for diverse building structures and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, models, and documentation.
• Collaborate with design and drafting teams to deliver practical, buildable solutions.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and consultants throughout the design process.
• Attend design meetings and conduct occasional site inspections.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in structural engineering design, including steel and concrete structures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• RPEQ registration or actively working towards it.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as SpaceGASS, RAPT, RAM Concept, ETABS, or Inducta.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards and local industry practices.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
