Strategic Account Executive (SLED)

About the role

Datadog is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Executive to drive growth in State, Local, and Education (SLED) markets. You will work within the Enterprise Sales team, leveraging Datadog’s observability platform to help public‑sector customers transition to the cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect and sell into State, Local, and Education organizations while managing an efficient sales process.
• Build and maintain relationship maps for the territory, including existing and aspirational contacts.
• Negotiate pricing and business terms, selling value and ROI to SLED enterprises.
• Expand existing customer relationships and increase reach within the assigned territory.
• Provide accurate forecasts and maintain high forecasting consistency.

Required profile

• 5+ years of closing experience in mid‑market or enterprise sales.
• Proven track record meeting/exceeding direct sales goals of $800k+ with average deal size of $50k+.
• Experience selling SaaS or IT infrastructure solutions, preferably to public‑sector customers.
• Willingness to travel regularly to client sites across regions.
