Stock Agent

About the role

Elders is looking for a Stock Agent to join its team in Albany on a permanent, full-time basis. Stock Agents give clients expert livestock sales support and insight, working both in the branch and travelling the countryside in the iconic pink shirt. They assess and prepare livestock for market to obtain maximum value for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships and grow a strong portfolio of new and existing clients
• Identify and cultivate new livestock sales opportunities
• Build relationships with key industry partners, including exporters and processors
• Provide professional on-site livestock advice to clients and recommend products and services
• Use tactful negotiation to bring buyers and sellers together
• Maximise promotional opportunities, including helping at industry and community events

Required profile

• Passion for livestock sales and an active interest in safe livestock handling
• Driven by sales and success, and willing to build new business
• High level of customer service and relationship building
• Livestock Auctioneer Licence and Assessor Accreditation, or willingness to become licensed after free training offered by Elders
