About the role

GMP Lawyers is seeking a dedicated Special Counsel Class Action Solicitor to join its dynamic legal team in Sydney CBD. This permanent, full‑time position will manage and advance class action cases, ensuring the highest standard of legal representation for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee class action litigation from inception to resolution.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and external counsel to ensure effective communication and case management.
• Represent clients in court hearings and negotiations.
• Stay updated on relevant legal developments and changes in legislation affecting class actions.
• Mentor and support junior solicitors and legal staff within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admitted to practice as a solicitor in New South Wales.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in class action or litigation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal research tools.
• Experience using case management software.
