About the role
HammondCare is an independent Christian charity that provides the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, a government-funded program linking older people with volunteers in their local community. As a Social Visitor Volunteer in Wahroonga, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in a residential care home, sharing whatever you enjoy, from sport and art to pets, gardening, walking, yoga, baking, craft, movies, music, coffee and crosswords.
Key responsibilities
- Spend time engaging with residents one-on-one or in small groups.
- Provide regular visits that help improve quality of life and reduce isolation.
- Share your interests with residents during your visits.
Required profile
- Aged 18 or older.
- An NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability between 9am and 5pm for one-hour weekday visits (Monday to Friday).
