About the role

HammondCare is looking for volunteers to run a morning café session for elderly residents at its residential care facility in Wahroonga. The role creates a welcoming, café-style space during the 10am to 12pm slot, Monday to Friday, either weekly or fortnightly. It is a simple way to bring comfort, warmth and a sense of community to residents.

Key responsibilities

Serve as a social visitor, spending the morning creating a welcoming atmosphere for residents.
Set out cups and saucers and make coffee using a pod machine.
Serve light refreshments while offering friendly conversation and connection.

Required profile

18 years or older.
An NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.

Volunteers are contacted by phone or text after expressing interest; if that is not possible, a follow-up email is sent. More information on volunteering is available on the HammondCare website.
