Senior Track Engineer

About the role

Hatch is seeking a senior engineer to lead high‑quality civil and track design for transportation infrastructure, primarily rail projects, across New South Wales. The role spans concept development, detailed design, tendering and project delivery within multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare structural, civil and track designs and ensure they meet BIM standards.
• Coordinate inputs from civil, mechanical, electrical and architectural disciplines.
• Lead proposal development, bid submission and client engagement for new rail business.
• Conduct drawing checks, design reviews and ensure compliance with codes and client specifications.

Required profile

• 15+ years of civil/structural engineering experience on infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience in rail systems and track design packages.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks to deadlines.
• Strong communication skills in English and client‑facing experience.

Required skills

• Track design software such as OpenRail and 12D.
• Knowledge of BIM standards and civil modelling interfaces.
• Understanding of relevant standards, codes of practice and design guidelines.
