Senior Electrical Engineer – Water Infrastructure

About the role

Join AECOM’s Water Infrastructure team in Newcastle and work on large‑scale, iconic water and wastewater projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will design and deliver electrical solutions for pumping stations, treatment plants, ventilation, fire protection and HVAC systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop complete electrical design packages, including instrumentation, power distribution, control and communications.
• Perform technical studies such as modelling and computational analysis.
• Prepare cost estimates, CAD drawings and support bid proposals for external clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to proposal preparation, design schedules and budgets.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience on municipal water and/or wastewater projects.
• Background in a dynamic consulting and design environment, with industrial electrical, instrument and control systems exposure.
• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering; CPEng registration or progress towards it.
• Project Management and Quality Management knowledge is desirable.

• Electrical systems design (instrumentation, power distribution, control, communications).
• Technical modelling and computational analysis.
• Electrical cost estimating.
• Computer‑aided drafting (CAD).
