Senior Taxation Accountant

About the role

Talison Lithium is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to report to the Taxation Manager and manage the company's taxation compliance, reporting, governance and transfer pricing obligations. The position is based in the Perth office and can be offered as either a part-time or full-time role. You will ensure compliance with Australian tax legislation while giving commercially focused tax advice and supporting strategic business initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the tax governance framework, including tax policies, procedures, risk registers and periodic control testing
• Prepare income tax, GST, PAYG, FBT and other statutory returns and lodgements, coordinating with external tax advisors and managing the Tax WIP and Fixed Asset Register
• Assist with annual Transfer Pricing documentation and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR)
• Reconcile tax balance sheet accounts quarterly, including IFRS tax effect workbooks and journals
• Provide tax advice on commercial transactions, capital projects and strategic initiatives
• Improve tax processes, systems and reporting through automation and continuous improvement
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisors and regulators

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with 4+ years of taxation experience in mining, resources, energy, infrastructure or a large corporate environment
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation across all disciplines
• Experience with tax effect accounting and financial reporting under AASB 112 / IAS 12 (IFRS preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, able to manage competing priorities and build stakeholder relationships

Required skills

• Advanced Excel
• SAP or ERP experience highly regarded
