Senior Tax Consultant

About the role

Stannards is seeking a Senior Tax Consultant to join its tax advisory team. You will work alongside two experienced Tax Directors, delivering high‑quality tax advice to a diverse client base across income tax, GST and FBT matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide trusted tax advisory support to clients and the broader firm.
• Deliver income‑tax advisory work on restructures, M&A, employee share schemes and international expansion.
• Address key tax issues such as CGT rollovers, tax consolidation, tax‑loss utilisation and Division 7A.
• Support ATO reviews, audits, objections, early engagements and ruling applications.
• Conduct technical tax research and prepare supporting documentation.
• Assist in tax risk‑management and governance framework delivery.
• Perform tax due diligence for corporate‑finance engagements.
• Ensure accurate, timely delivery of all client work and collaborate with senior leaders for integrated outcomes.

Required profile

• Experienced tax professional with strong technical expertise and a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• 3+ years of tax experience, preferably in corporate or trust taxation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax research tools such as CCH.
