Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

A leading Financial Services firm based in North Sydney is looking for an experienced Accountant / Senior Accountant to manage a portfolio of privately owned businesses, family groups and high-net-worth clients. The role sits close to the clients, works with Partners and offers technical tax work alongside advice, relationship building and mentoring. The advertised pay is $130K-$150K plus bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of privately owned businesses, family groups and high-net-worth clients
• Provide proactive tax planning and strategic business advice
• Review financial statements, income tax returns and other compliance work
• Advise on business structures, restructures, CGT, Division 7A and broader Australian taxation matters
• Mentor and develop junior accountants within the team
• Work directly with Partners on more complex client engagements
• Contribute to business development and identify opportunities to support clients

Required profile

• Around 10-15 years' experience in Australian public practice
• Comfortable independently managing client relationships and a portfolio
• Ideally a CA or CPA qualification
• Experience working with privately owned businesses and high-net-worth clients
• Experience mentoring, coaching or reviewing junior team members
• Commercial mindset and collaborative leadership style
