Internal Audit Manager

About the role

Hollard, a top 5 general insurer in Australia and New Zealand, is looking for an Internal Audit Manager to lead its internal audit function. Reporting directly to the Head of Internal Audit, you will lead audits across the group's businesses and partners, engage executives on the risks uncovered and help shape the audit plan and the future direction of Internal Audit. You will deliver audits end to end with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver audits across the businesses and partners, from planning and fieldwork through to reporting
• Assess the design and effectiveness of controls, raise issues on control weaknesses and non-compliance with policies and regulations
• Help develop, review and maintain the audit universe and annual audit plan with the Head of Internal Audit
• Prepare reports for the Risk Management Committee and Board Audit Committee and follow up open findings with management
• Review work papers, coach and mentor team members and uphold Internal Audit standards

Required profile

• Substantial experience in an audit environment, with a proven track record at manager level
• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex audits end to end, independently
• Confidence to hold commercial conversations with executives about the risks and challenges audit identifies
• Strong relationship building, listening, written and verbal communication skills, with a curious mindset
• A qualification from a professional body such as IIA, CPA or CA, and a sound understanding of auditing and risk management principles
• Financial services or insurance experience is preferred
