Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Bright & Duggan Group, an Australian property services organisation, is expanding its engineering capability and building modern software platforms. It is looking for experienced Senior Software Engineers to join its growing engineering team, working alongside the Head of Engineering, Product Manager, UX/UI specialists, Data professionals and fellow Senior Engineers. The role involves influencing technical decisions, mentoring others and tackling complex engineering challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions, including scalable backend services, APIs and integrations
• Take ownership of features from design through deployment
• Develop distributed and event-driven platform capabilities, and contribute to solution design and architecture
• Build workflow-enabled business solutions and automation capabilities
• Solve complex integration and data challenges and support platform scalability and resilience
• Use AI-assisted development tools, take part in code and design reviews, and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
• Work closely with Product, UX/UI, Data and Technology Operations teams, and mentor engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex software solutions
• Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices
• Experience building scalable, secure and reliable applications
• Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement, and ability to work in a collaborative team
