Senior Placement Broker – Property

About the role

Marsh Risk is looking for a Senior Placement Broker, Property to join its Placement team in Sydney. This hybrid role requires at least three days per week in the office and involves leading strategic insurance placements from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end property insurance placements, develop go‑to‑market plans, prepare underwriting submissions and bind accurate placement binders.
• Manage client relationships as the primary adviser, gathering risk information, presenting strategies and delivering market updates.
• Coordinate with markets and underwriters to identify carriers, negotiate terms and secure cost‑effective coverage.
• Provide practical risk advisory, assess exposures (including natural catastrophe) and advise on market changes.
• Mentor junior brokers, driving team performance and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of commercial insurance or risk management experience with proven placement and negotiation success in property insurance.
• Deep technical knowledge of property coverages, policy forms and catastrophe exposure assessment.
• Strong client relationship, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business or Finance (Master’s and designations such as ARM, CPCU preferred).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with analytics/risk systems.
