Senior Manager - Operational Risk (Enterprise Finance)

About the role

The Senior Manager – Operational Risk provides second‑line oversight of non‑financial and operational risks within the Enterprise Finance value chain. Reporting to the Group Services Risk Division, the role focuses on risk identification, assessment, control design and effectiveness across processes, systems and data.

Key responsibilities

• Support second‑line oversight for designated Enterprise Finance value‑chain risk matters.
• Review, challenge and improve material risk assessments, control designs and their effectiveness.
• Provide clear risk opinions on framework application and first‑line risk management.
• Prioritise activities based on material risks, emerging themes and control weaknesses.
• Identify, escalate and monitor material control gaps or inefficiencies.
• Assess root‑cause analyses and ensure remediation addresses underlying drivers.
• Track remediation progress, escalating where delivery is at risk.
• Prepare and review committee papers and risk reporting for governance forums.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operational risk within a financial services environment.
• Strong judgement and ability to work independently while influencing senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to convey risk insights.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.
