About the role
The School of Health Sciences at Swinburne University is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics to lead and expand its new Health Economics major within the Bachelor of Health Sciences. This full‑time, ongoing position involves high‑quality teaching, curriculum development, and research that prepares students for future‑focused health sector careers.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver and design undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Health Economics.
- Lead curriculum development and innovative teaching methods for the Health Economics major.
- Supervise higher degree research students and mentor junior staff.
- Develop and maintain industry partnerships and collaborative research projects.
- Secure external research funding through grants and industry collaborations.
- Contribute to Swinburne’s research output with publications in refereed journals and conference presentations.
Required profile
- Doctoral qualification in Health Economics, Public Health, or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
- Demonstrated ability to design and manage high‑quality curricula.
- Strong record of independent and team‑based research with peer‑reviewed publications.
- Experience obtaining external research funding.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with academics, industry, and government.
Required skills
- Knowledge of economic principles applied to healthcare.
- Research methodology and statistical analysis in health economics.
