Senior HR Advisor - Rail Infrastructure Project

About the role

UGL is recruiting a Senior HR Advisor for the Logan Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGCFR) project, a rail infrastructure program expanding the corridor from two to four tracks between Kuraby and Beenleigh, with station upgrades, enhanced signalling and improved network capacity for South East Queensland. The role is based at Fortitude Valley and moves to Beenleigh, so the ability to work across both locations is required. It supports the project's plans and strategy through HR support and initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support project leaders in improving project performance through people
• Simplify HR tools and processes across the project
• Help managers lead teams through change, performance management and employee relations matters
• Create and support innovation and organisational change
• Produce timely, accurate HR reporting to support project decisions
• Assist project leaders in managing costs and delivering approved budgets
• Implement HR initiatives supporting Project Management Plans where relevant
• Identify resource and skill gaps and develop strategies to bridge them
• Administer performance and rewards, including promotions and remuneration changes
• Advise on legislative changes and business standards, and handle internal recruitment aligned with project needs
• Deliver people management training and coaching, drive performance and development reviews, and negotiate transfer terms

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Human Resources, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline
• Minimum 8 years in generalist operational HR within an engineering or construction environment, overseeing at least 300 employees (salaries and wages)
• Experience initiating and driving HR initiatives and supporting clients through organisational change
• Ensuring business compliance with employment and OHS legislation
