Human Resources Manager

About the role

A privately owned, multi-generational agribusiness with about 75 employees across Brisbane and New England is looking for an HR Manager to lead its HR function and manage all people practices. Reporting to the CFO and joining the Group Management Team, the role partners closely with corporate and operational leaders, earning their trust through practical, value-add advice on people and performance. The client has established HR and compliance foundations in place.

Key responsibilities

• Work with managers to identify critical roles, develop succession plans and build future leadership capability, especially for key operational roles
• Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to inductions, training and review cycles
• Guide managers through employee relations, performance conversations and everyday people matters
• Coordinate performance reviews, identify leadership development opportunities and succession planning
• Develop initiatives to improve engagement and retention
• Maintain HR records and compliance, and provide data-driven workforce insights and reporting to the CFO

Required profile

• Experienced HR Manager or HR Business Partner who enjoys partnering with all areas of operations and acting as a trusted advisor
• Approachable, organised and able to build credibility by listening to operational pressures and following through
• HR qualifications, experience supporting operational or blue-collar workforces, and an interest in agriculture are desirable
• Fortnightly travel to site is required

Required skills

• Strong HR generalist experience and sound knowledge of employment legislation and awards
• Confidence in coaching managers and handling sensitive people matters
• A hands-on approach that balances daily HR delivery with longer-term improvements
