Senior Financial Accountant - Path to Finance Manager

About the role

A global product group's Australian and New Zealand business is recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant in North Shore, NSW. The role has a clear succession path to Finance Manager, with mentoring from an experienced Finance Manager and a small, collaborative finance team. It suits a hands-on accountant who wants genuine ownership in a lean, profitable business.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month-end close and the monthly reporting pack for Australia and New Zealand
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and journals to a high standard
• Manage BAS, GST and other statutory compliance, working with external advisers on year-end and audit
• Support budgeting, forecasting and reporting to the global group
• Oversee payables, receivables and cash flow, keeping controls tight
• Drive process improvements that make reporting faster and more reliable
• Provide commercial insight to the Managing Director on margins, pricing and performance

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified, or close to completion
• Solid experience running month-end and preparing management reports
• Experience in a commercial, trading or sales-focused business is well regarded
• Confident communicator able to build trust with a Managing Director and a global finance team

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of GST, BAS and statutory compliance
• Advanced Excel skills
• Practical, improvement-minded approach
