Accountant (Aviation)

About the role

A growing aviation services business on the Sunshine Coast, operating across Australia and internationally in areas such as aerial firefighting, emergency response, aircraft maintenance and infrastructure support, is looking for a hands-on Accountant. Working closely with the CFO and leadership team, the role covers financial reporting, business performance and operational support across a diverse, multi-company environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, general ledger reconciliations, month-end and year-end reporting, group consolidations, multi-currency reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Oversee stock and inventory accounting, fixed assets, audit support, financial controls and process improvement

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification accounting experience, with strong hands-on stock and inventory accounting experience
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce (essential)
• CPA or CA qualification preferred but not mandatory
• Full Australian working rights and eligibility to work in Australia
• Desirable: group consolidation and multi-currency accounting, fixed asset accounting, Microsoft Business Central, and commercial experience in manufacturing, engineering, aviation, wholesale, retail or distribution

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Experience using ERP or accounting systems
