Senior Associate - R&A, Institutional Property Group

About the role

ANZ is hiring a Senior Associate for its Institutional Property Group (IPG) Research & Analysis team in Sydney. The role supports the credit assessment function and helps maintain a well-managed portfolio, with direct exposure to IPG clients focused on funds and real estate investment trusts across office, industrial, retail, hotel and residential sectors. It is a full-time hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and manage risks in a client's capital and management structure and financial results
• Evaluate client, asset and project performance and develop risk mitigation strategies
• Prepare quality credit submissions and conduct financial analysis and industry research
• Manage risk grade events and liaise with clients and Credit on matters such as covenant compliance and risk grade reviews
• Work regularly with credit executives and deal documentation
• Apply well-managed portfolio controls and communicate directly with clients

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in banking or finance
• Tertiary qualification, preferably in Commerce, Business, Accounting or Economics
• Experience in customer management and broad knowledge of processes and procedures
• Ability to identify key business drivers, mitigate risks and make recommendations
• Sound communication skills

Required skills

• Demonstrated financial analysis skills beyond traditional accounting-based analysis
• Sound credit skills, able to present a well-motivated risk assessment and business proposition
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products
