Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

The Acquire Group is seeking a hands‑on Senior Financial Accountant to join its fast‑growing multi‑site healthcare business in Sydney. This 6‑month contract will provide immediate capacity to the finance team, focusing on complex lease accounting, multi‑entity reporting and compliance across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Month‑end close including journals, accruals and reconciliations for a multi‑entity group.
• Lease accounting under AASB 16 across a large clinic network, handling ongoing recognition and movements.
• Ownership of the fixed‑asset register and balance‑sheet integrity.
• Statutory and tax compliance for GST, BAS, FBT, PAYG withholding, payroll tax and superannuation.
• Support debt‑covenant and financial reporting obligations.
• Complex account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Coordinate year‑end and half‑year audit, preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
• Provide day‑to‑day direction and light mentoring to a small transactional team.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with ~4 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in healthcare or a Big 4 environment.
• Strong technical grounding in AASB 16 leasing and multi‑entity accounting.
• Depth of knowledge in FBT, GST, payroll tax and broader compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working in a complex, multi‑entity systems environment.
• Self‑directed operator able to own deliverables in a fast‑moving finance team.
